工夫を凝らした新歓活動により、サークルの新入生数を増加させた経験について述べたい。 私の所属した合唱サークルでは毎年の課題として入部者数の低迷が挙げられていた。そこで自らが新歓代表となり、主体的に関わりたいと考えた。私はチームで働く時、一人一人が責任感を持って動くことを重要視している。今回これが欠如していると感じたため、全員が新歓にコミットする状態を作りたいと考えた。そのためのツールとして、新入生相手にメンバー全員が適切に振舞えるようにする勉強会を企画し、サークルの魅力や雰囲気を伝えられる「一分間プレゼン」や「あいうえおトークテーマ集」をメンバーに浸透させた。これで全員が端的に話す力と雑談力を身につけることができた。また双方向的な討論形式の勉強会にすることで全員の当事者意識を向上させるという目的を達成できた。結果として平年比120%の新入生数を確保でき、活動の本分である演奏の質の向上に繋げられた。 続きを読む

I believe that your company's business can contribute to the future development of the Japanese economy. I think that future economic growth in Japan will require the circulation of liquid funds and the creation of an environment in which growing companies have access to sufficient funds. I also believe that increasing the amount of money in the market by encouraging asset management for both individuals and companies will promote economic growth even in the Japanese market, which is expected to shrink. I would like to contribute to the development of an atmosphere in which productive discussions can take place, using the experience of hypothesis building gained in my research activities. My laboratory has a weekly debriefing session, where we interpret the data and formulate hypotheses in advance. However, in some cases, the people who see the data interpret it differently. One of the reasons for this was that there was a difference between my own knowledge of the subject and the people around me who had more knowledge of the experimental method. So I explained what knowledge I was basing my interpretation on and asked the other person to do the same. This process allowed us to agree on the level of knowledge of the assumptions throughout the meeting, allowing us to smoothly interpret them optimally and build the next hypothesis. I would like to describe my experience of increasing the number of new students in my club by means of an elaborate new cheer activity. The chorus club to which I belonged was faced with the yearly problem of low membership numbers. Therefore, I decided to become a new chorus representative. When I work in a team, I place great importance on each individual working with a sense of responsibility. This time, I felt this was lacking, so I wanted to create a situation where everyone was committed to the new cheer. As a tool to achieve this, I planned a study session to ensure that all members behave appropriately with new students, and I made sure that all members were familiar with the "One Minute Presentation" and the "AtoZ Talk Themes" to convey the appeal and atmosphere of the circle. This helped all members to acquire the ability to speak straightforwardly and to chat. We also achieved our goal of raising everyone's sense of ownership by making the workshop an interactive discussion format. As a result, the number of new students increased by 120% compared to the average, and this led to an improvement in the quality of the performance, which is the main purpose of the activity. 続きを読む

　私の長所は誰にでも接しやすい印象を与えることだと思う。金融業界では人との関係が重要になってくる。お客様とコミュニケーションを取り、信頼関係を持つ事によって仕事の流れがよくなってゆく。接しやすいことは話しやすいことに繋がる。接しやすい印象を与えることによって、相手は私に話しやすい環境を作ることができる。信頼がなり立たないと仕事は進まないため、金融業界では私の長所を活かす事ができる。 続きを読む

　私の短所はフレンドリーな印象を与えてしまうことであると思う。接しやすい印象を与えることは良いことではあるが、反対に相手に仕事上でもフレンドリー過ぎる接し方をされてしまうことがある。話す時は壁を感じない方がいいが、何かを教える時や上の立場に立った時には相手がフレンドリー過ぎる接し方をしてしまったらいけない。この短所をなくすために、必要な時には表情や話し方を変えることをして、真剣なムードを作れるように努力している。 続きを読む

　私は今、読書に夢中になっている。本を読み終わった後に、その本について考えることが好きだ。2014年に50冊の本を読むことを目標にして読書を始めた。始めは、自分の好きな洋書ばかりを読んでいたが、自分をさらに挑戦させたく日本語で歴史小説を読み始めた。始めから、長編小説を読むのは難しいと考え、友人に勧められた短編小説から始めた。自分にとっては、日本の歴史を学ぶ良い機会であり、それ以上に土地や人の名前を覚えることができた。さらに友人とも共通の話題が１つ増えた。どのような本を読んでいるか、今度どのような本を読むかなどお互いが熱く語れる共通点ができたことが良かった。 　多くの人と多くの共通な話題を作るためにも、本を読み続けている。最近は学校の図書館では事前に決めずに、その場で読みたいと思った本を借りている。2014年の目標は５冊足りず達成できなかったため、今年は計画的に読書を進めていきたい。 続きを読む

　私は小学生の時は自分で黙々と物事を進め、納得するまで次のステップに進まない子供であった。一輪車に乗る練習をしていた時がその例となる。私はアメリカの小学校でタレントショーの中で全生徒の前で一輪車に乗るために練習した。１人で車を補助として使い、少しずつ漕げるように毎日放課後で練習した。漕げるようになったら、その後は音楽の振り付けを考えた。音楽のテンポや起伏を最大限に利用した振り付けを１人で考えた。さらに、観客を盛り上げて取り組むためにも、手拍子をつけることをした。　　　　 　振り付けを考えた後も自分が納得いくまで練習して、夜はガレージの中で音楽を流して練習することもあった。親にパフォーマンスを見てもらい、どうしたら完成度が高くなるかとアドバイスをしてもらった。そのアドバイスを取り入れて、再び自分が納得するまで練習した。当日は全生徒が初めて見る一輪車のパフォーマンスを納得いくように披露することができた。　　　　　　　 続きを読む

I am a Junior at ○○ University majoring in Political Science and Economics. I lived in the United States for 11 years. I lived in a small town, where the Asian population was only 1% of the entire population. I joined an outdoors club after entering college, where go hiking and biking from one day to two weeks at the longest. This outdoors activity is the one thing that I have put all my time and effort into during these three years of being a college student. Hiking and Biking is not only about the beautiful scenery and getting in shape, but this activity makes one have better communication and leadership skills. When I plan a hiking trip, I make sure everyone participates in the conversation and that no one feels left out. A leader has to be able to observe her surroundings and act out in the best way possible. If one of the member looks as though he or she is tired and can not move, I will redistribute the things inside of the bag to make the bag a little bit lighter. Another time, when the bottom of the shoe fell off of one of the hiker, I thought of the best way to try to enact the bottom to the shoe by tying it all together with a shoelace. A leader has to be observant and communicate with others to see what it is that the others actually need. Being in an outdoors club has taught me to be a better leader. In college, I am writing my thesis paper on the Greece Recession and it’s impact on the citizens. I started doing research on the Great Recession because I was interested in the Euro and its limits. Right now I am searching whether if the recession did really have an impact on the citizens, and if it did by how much it affected them. The next research I want to do is why Germany and the other surrounding countries helped Greece with the bailout plan. Also, I would have to do the research on how much if affected the neighboring countries and by how much. 続きを読む
