まず、私が金融業界を志望する理由は3つあります。1つは、大学院ではXXXXの研究を行っており、分析的な思考や数字・数式を多用する仕事には慣れているため、自分には金融業界の業務には適性があると考えていることです。2つ目は、趣味で株式の運用を始めたことがきっかけで金融取引の奥深さを知り、お金にまつわる仕事をしてみたいと思うようになったことが挙げられます。そして最後の理由としては、ダイナミックかつ世界レベルでスケールが大きく、それでいて正当な報酬を得られる仕事を選びたいと思っているからです。その中で投資銀行部門を志望するのは、先に述べた3つの理由にぴったり符合していると思うからです。低金利のこの時代においては、間接金融よりも直接金融においてそのような仕事ができると私は考えています。投資銀行業務は、金融の力で社会を動かしていくやり甲斐のある仕事であり、是非私も参加したいです。 続きを読む

The news that interested me recently was about Tokyo Kikai Seisakusho and AsiaDevelopment Capital (ADC). Tokyo Kikai decided at an extraordinary general meeting to invoke takeover defense measures for the acquisition by ADC. The reason why I was interested in this was I felt that the Japanese stock market was not well-conditioned. ADC bought up floating shares through the open market and did not break any laws. Nevertheless, the voting rights of ADC were not authorized, and the takeover defense measures were unilaterally decided. In addition to this, the fact the court also supported Tokyo Kikai made me feel that Japan's capital market is still inits infancy. It is unprecedented in the world for a shareholder who owns 40% of a company's shares to be declared invalid for voting rights, and I think this incident indicates that the Japanese economy is not ready for globalization.
